WILD ELEPHANT IN GUWAHATI STREETS
TNI News Service (TNS)
Webdesk, TNI Guwahati, 21st August, 2015: Guwahati today experienced something what some cities of South Africans experience many a time. A wild male elephant jumped into the busy Guwahati streets halting traffic and passerby. It created panic among the people for some time. The animal got separated from his herd halted and forgot its way back. There were no injuries reported either to the animal or to any human life. The elephant crossed a highway, wandered the streets and got himself extracted from a muddy pit, then found his way back into the hills. Wild animals have been increasingly straying into cities as a result of urban development and human encroachment close to forests.
